Galen H. Pruett

President / Funeral Director / Embalmer

Galen began his association with Harouff-Arensberg Funeral Home in October of 1972. He is a 1973 graduate of Atchison High School. Galen earned an A.A. from Highland Community College and his A.A.S. in Mortuary Science from Kansas City, Kansas Community College. While in mortuary school, he received the Sigma Phi Sigma Award for Outstanding Professional Excellence. He and his wife Sharon joined partnership with William L. Arensberg in 1984, to form the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. He is currently President of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Inc.

Dr. Sharon M. Pruett

Vice-President / Funeral Director

Sharon is a 1976 graduate of Troy High School. She received an A.A. from Highland Community College, receiving her B.A. and Master’s from Benedictine College. In May of 2012, Sharon graduated from the University of Kansas with her Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Currently, she is serving as a Funeral Director. She also serves as an administrative assistant for Pruett Lawn Care. Adler M. Pruett

Funeral Director / Embalmer

The youngest son of Galen and Sharon Pruett, Adler is a 2009 graduate of Maur Hilll-Mount Academy. His senior year he was awarded the prestigious St. Benedict Award. Adler graduated from Benedictine College in the fall of 2012, with a B.A. in Business Administration. He received the "Excellence in Entrepreneurship" Award, from the Benedictine College School of Business, in the spring of 2012. He graduated in December of 2014 from Kansas City Kansas Community College with his A.A.S in Mortuary Science. On December 16, 2014, he successfully completed his International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards on his first attempt. On January 26, 2016, Adler successfully completed his Kansas State Funeral Director Exam and Apprenticeship. He now is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Adler also owns and operates Pruett Lawn Care in Atchison.

August J. Kautz

Funeral Director / Embalmer

August began his employment with the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home on June 7, 2007. The son of Tom Kautz and Diane Kautz, Gus attended Atchison County Community Schools, graduating in 2005. Following graduation, he attended Benedictine College, where he played football and graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in Business Administration. Following graduation, he attended Kansas City, Kansas Community College and earned his A.A.S. in Mortuary Science in 2011. While attending Mortuary School, Gus was awarded the Kansas Funeral Directors’ Association Foundation Scholarship. On May 17, 2011, he successfully completed his International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards on his first attempt. On July 12, 2012, he successfully completed his Kansas Funeral Director and Embalmer requirements.
