Virginia Paul

Virginia Lee Paul, age 89, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on November 16, 2025, with her son Danny and his girlfriend Ann Slate by her side. Virginia was born on April 9, 1936, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Arch and Marie (Hughes) Gragg.

Virginia graduated from Atchison High School in 1954 and began as the secretary for the Board of Education, Mount Saint Scholastica, and St. Benedict’s College. In 1976, she went to work for Waggoner and Foley Law Office, later Foley Buddenbohm Law Office, retiring in July of 2012. 

Virginia married Richard “Dick” Paul on July 8, 1961. He preceded her in death in 2004; her son David preceded her in 2020.

Virginia was a member of Atchison Elk’s Club; VFW Auxiliary and Pineview Golf Club.

She is survived by her son, Danny Paul, of the home. Virginia is also survived by two grandsons, Matthew and Alex, and two great grandsons, Keeton and Archer.

Cremation care has been provided by the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Humane Society or First Christian Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
