Virginia Lacy, 89, Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
A private family graveside memorial service will be at a later date at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Project Concern and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final care has been entrusted.
Virginia was born March 30, 1928 in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Carl H. and Marie J. (Deichen) Lutz. She attended Independence Valley School Grade School.
She and Ronald G. Jones were married in 1947. Mr. Jones preceded her in death in October 1976. In 1986 she and Glenn H. Lacy were united in marriage. Mr. Lacy preceded her in death on May 31, 2001.
Virginia was employed with the former Saunders Manufacturing Company for thirty-five years until her retirement.
Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church in Atchison. She enjoyed playing cards with her family every Saturday evening and every afternoon she and her daughter, Vicky were together to play marbles. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Ronald G. (Jill) Jones, Cheyene, WY; a daughter, Vicky L. (Gilbert) Pilcher, Cummings, KS; a brother, Albert E. Lutz, Atchison, KS; a sister, Rose M. (Don) Shrout, Atchison, KS; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lois Lutz, Atchison, KS, and a brother-in-law, Ted Barclay, Independence, MO.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dan L. Jones, a great-grandson, Cody McDaniel, a brother, Carl H. Lutz, Jr., and two sisters, Ruth E. Lanter and Juanita P. Barclay.
