Timothy J. Nass, 57, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2013.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons / Johnson County Chapel, 112th & Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Ks. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at St. Benedict's Church, Second Street and Division, Atchison, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the KCAC Foundation, 845 Armstrong, KC, KS 66106 or to Maur Hill-Mount Academy. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home 208 N. 5th Street Atchison, Kansas 66002, has been entrusted with final arrangements.


Tim was born July 28, 1955 to John and Mary Ann (Tabor) Nass in Atchison, Ks. He attended St Benedict's grade school, graduated from Maur Hill Prep School and attended Kansas State University. Tim began a career in the music industry as a booking agent and manager for various regional and national bands. He later established a multi-state network of venues catering to stand up comedy. He moved to the advertising business and most recently was the Vice President of Business Development for Ascend Integrated Media a firm he started with in 1992.

Tim was active in multiple sports and competed in tennis, golf and handball. He recently won the Missouri state handball doubles championship and the Kansas City championship in 3 wall handball. He was a member and founding director of the Kansas City Athletic Club and an active member of the local handball community.

Tim is survived by son Zachary and daughter Megan both of Overland Park, former wife Marion Chapman-Nass, Overland Park, mother Mary Ann Nass, Atchison, sisters Theresa Nass, Frisco, TX, Janie Edwards, Parkville, MO and Peggy (Matt) Frihart, Frisco, TX; brothers Mike (Susan) Nass, Clive, IA and Dan Nass, Phoenix, AZ as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father John Nass and brother in-law Bruce Edwards. He will be greatly missed by his family and the numerous people he touched throughout his life.
