Lancaster

Terry Ray Myers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on February 11, 2026, at his home on the farm in Lancaster, Kansas, surrounded by family. Born on October 21, 1954, in Atchison, Kansas, Terry lived life working hard and spending his free time doing the things he loved most.

He attended Lancaster Elementary School and Atchison County Community High School. With over forty-two years of dedicated service as a Material Handler and Forklift Operator at MGP, he was well-regarded for his reliability and commitment to quality work. After retiring, true to his workaholic nature, he continued to lend his talents to Bottorff Construction for an additional six years. Terry was a jack of all trades who enjoyed inventing projects that enhanced efficiency in his work.

Terry's true passion was farming. He relished the time spent on the farm, raising cattle as his primary focus. His interests included managing row crops, baling hay for his herd, and finding joy in attending various auctions, including those for cars, cattle, and machinery. It was these auctions that helped foster connections that would shape the lives of his children, where some would find their homes from relationship made at the auctions.

Terry fondly recalled memories with his father, moments spent on the farm or during fishing trips. He found joy in many activities — hunting, fishing for spoonbill, cutting wood, and working alongside his wife, Julie, as they remodeled their cabin. Their love for the outdoors extended to boating and camping at Lake Perry, and numerous trips to Mexico shared with friends. He also delighted in cruising the highways on his trike and winning local Demo Derbies in his younger years.

On September 27, 2008, Terry married Julie (Kinyon) Myers at their cherished home on the farm in Lancaster, KS, solidifying a partnership that embodied love, teamwork, and creativity. Together, they shared a rich life filled with adventures and mutual support.

Terry leaves behind his wife, Julie, and his sons, Jason (Kari) Myers and Joshua Myers, both of Lancaster, Kansas. He also cherished his stepchildren, Curtis (Jessica) Larrison of Atchison, Kansas; Cheyenne Larrison of Cummings, Kansas; and Jennifer (Russell) Klepees of Leavenworth, Kansas. His family extended further with two sisters, Marsha Lutz of Lawrence, Kansas, and Fay (David) Sternsdorf of Effingham, Kansas. He was a proud grandfather to one granddaughter, Renay Myers and eleven step-grandchildren, Jayden Klepees, Cole Klepees, Curtis Larrison III, Maggie Larrison, Jenna Larrison, Clayton Larrison, Casey Larrison, Brantley Larrison, Lane Larrison, Rose Larrison and Karley Larrison.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Ray and Barbara Lee (Muncie) Myers, and his brothers, Kenneth Myers and Harold Wayne Myers. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his steadfast dedication, creativity, and the profound impact he left on the lives of many.
