Sue Bromley

Sue Ellen Bromley, 80, of Atchison, KS, passed away December 24, 2024, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Sue was born on April 2, 1944 to Donald and Thelma Hartman, in Maryville, MO.  Sue married the love of her life, Howard Gene Bromley on February 23, 1963, in Atchison, KS. They had five children: Tonya, Rick, Rachel, April, and Leslie.

Sue and Howard shared 45 years of marriage when Howard preceded her in death on February 2, 2008.

Sue grew up on a family farm in Sheridan, MO.  When she was 10 years old, her family moved to Atchison, KS.  She shared many fond memories of life on the farm with her parents and siblings.  After marriage, Sue became a homemaker and an amazing caregiver to many children, who were entrusted in her care, as an in home daycare provider.  She was affectionately known by many as "Momma Sue".

Sue enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, hosting family get togethers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gary and Kenny, and a sister, Donna.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, in Atchison, KS.  A private service and burial will follow.  Interment will be at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband.
