Shirley A. Wahwahsuck, 66, Atchison, Kansas died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Kennekuk services will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 beginning at 5:30 P.M. at the Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be Sunday morning, February 1, 2015. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas has been entrusted with the service arrangements.
Shirley was born April 11, 1948 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Adolph Cadue, Sr., and Muriel Shuckahosse Cadue. She attended Horton Elementary School and Horton High School.
She and Michael R. Wahwahsuck, Sr., were united in marriage in Lawrence, Kansas. Mr. Wahwahsuck preceded her in death on December 26, 2001.
Mrs. Wahwahsuck was a homemaker. She had formerly worked for several years with the Kickapoo Tribe until her health failed.
She enjoyed going to the dirt track races, watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events and most especially she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald R. Wahwahsuck, Atchison, KS, Michael Wahwahsuck, Jr., Atchison, KS, Craig Wahwahsuck, Sr., Horton, KS, two brothers, Adolph Cadue, Jr., Horton, KS, Eugene Wabski, Atchison, KS, two sisters, Barbara Simon, Horton, KS, Sandra Bowen, Atchison, KS, and eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
