Shannon Pettigrew

Shannon Ruth (Purvis) Pettigrew, 66, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on March 5, 2026. She was born on June 24, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri. Shannon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, getting lost in a good book, and traveling whenever she could. She also loved antiques, vintage homes, and classic movies, and she had a special eye for things with history and character. 

During Scott’s numerous military deployments, she was the rock that held the family together. She will be remembered for her warm sense of humor and fun-loving spirit, and for the way she always made her family feel loved. She is survived by her husband, Scott, her children Christopher and Matthew (and his wife Jennifer), her grandchildren Kaylee and Conor, and her brothers Brett and Larry Jr. 

A small private gathering for close family will be held, followed by cremation.
