Samuel L. Hale

Samuel L. Hale, 69, Fruitland, Idaho died following a lengthy illness at the home of his son in Atchison, Kansas.

The body will be cremated.  Family services will be held at a later date with burial of the cremains to be in Willamette National Cemetery Oregon.  Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

Samuel was born April 29, 1944 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Walter Lorn and Flossie Mershon Hale.  He attended schools in Atchison, Everest and Effingham, Kansas.

He and Harriett Moore were married and later divorced.  He then married Joan White and she preceded him in death in 2000.

Samuel served in the United States Marine Corp from November 24, 1965 until his honorable discharge on October 26, 1971.

Samuel enjoyed camping, fishing, carpentry on his properties and the time he spent at his land in Prineville, Oregon.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Hale, Leavenworth, KS, Vickie Hale, Atchison, KS, two sons, Sam Hale, Atchison, KS, Jason Hintner, Boise, ID, four sisters, Leonore Mae Fultz, Atchison, KS, Carol Patricia Hicks, Lee's Summit, MO, Pauline Marie Hayes, Yuma, AZ, Sandra Lee Smith, Oregon, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Flossie Hale, three brothers, Walter Hale, David Hale and Stephan Hale.
