Ruth Louisa Greene, 96, Excelsior Springs, Missouri formerly of Winthrop, Missouri died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Valley Manor Nursing Center in Excelsior Springs.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Parish or Atchison Humane Society and may be left in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.arensbergpruett.com.
Ruth was born October 8, 1918 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Albert H. and Mary Griffith Marshall who each had a twin brother and sister who also were married to each other. She attended schools in Atchison.
During the depression at the young age of thirteen, Ruth had the choice of either marriage or being placed with an orphanage, she chose to marry Mr. Bolls but later divorced. After several years she married Mr. John Greene. Mr. Greene preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Ruth devoted her time to providing at neat and tidy home. Her enjoyments were reading and tending to the needs of her pets.
She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles W. Bolls and her five siblings.
