Russell D. (Rusty) Folsom, 55, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Atchison Hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 18, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 17th from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Athletic Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Rusty was born July 29, 1957 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Thomas T. and Betty Majors Folsom. He attended Atchison Public Schools.
Rusty had been employed with McCormick Distillery Company as a laborer until becoming disabled.
He and Kimmie Webb were united in marriage on October 11, 1975 and later divorced. He then united in marriage with Angela Portenier on March 13, 2004 and later divorced.
Rusty was an avid spectator of sporting events that his grandchildren participated in, he enjoyed playing softball on numerous teams throughout the years as well as spending time fishing, riding his motorcycle, his pets and partaking of fast food from several different restaurants, especially McDonald's.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Pickman, Atchison, KS, step-daughter, Brandy Gray, Leavenworth, KS, step-son, Aaron Gray, Wathena, KS, sister, Debbie, brother, Tim, two grandchildren, Ana Rizek and Jacob Pickman and two step-great grandchildren, Aurora Gray and Jack J. Gray.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Folsom.
