Rosemary Dorssom Walton, 74, of Longmont, Colorado died Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at her home following a short battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at the Cummings Christian Church, Cummings, KS on November 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cummings Cemetery.
Rosemary was born November 21st, 1942 in Winchester, Kansas the daughter of Emmett and Lora Roudebush of Cummings Kansas. She attended grade school at Cummings Elementary and graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1960. One of her favorite memories was getting to take a train trip with her friend Betty Atzenweiler to Chicago for 8th grade promotion.
She loved to work in her garden tending to her flower beds, and she excelled at sewing crafts. Rosemary was a member of the Christian Church, later joining the Lutheran Church where she married Robert Dorssom whom she later divorced. She then moved to Colorado, where she worked at Madhava Honey and met her husband James Walton. They moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado where she worked as a manager at City Market for several years.
After she and her husband retired they moved to Longmont, Colorado where she continued to sew, garden, travel and entertain frequent guests.
Rosemary is survived by her husband James Walton of the home, children Janette (John Giannangeli) Dorssom, April (Bobby) Park, and Matt (Kim) Dorssom and four grandchildren
Kiley (Austin) Surritt, Max Baumgartner, Ashley and Alex Park, and sister, Patricia (Steve) Stirton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, JC Roudebush.
