Rosemary Scheid

September 1, 1932 — June 27, 2016

Monday morning, June 27, 2016, Rosemary Shelia Helen Myers Scheid, left this world for something better. She was surrounded by those who loved and cared for her. Her peaceful transition was made with a gentle touch on the forehead and a kiss on the cheek from her biggest cheerleader and love, granddaughter, Brandee Falk at Medicalodge Atchison. Rosemary was 83 years old.

A prayer service will be Friday, July 1 at 6:00 PM at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow. The family has asked that donations in her name be left to the Atchison Musical Arts Society.

Born to Thomas and Helen (Swanson) Myers on September 1, 1932 in Holton, KS, Rosemary married the love of her life, Howard Earl Scheid on March 28, 1952. He preceded her in death. Rosemary was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Jean (Gene) Ramsey. They were sisters and best friends. Loving each other and travel they were able to visit many corners of the world, including Europe and Hawaii, and shop many, many malls. She was, also, preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Williams Myers and Thomas Myers.

Rosemary was the pillar of strength in her family and was a stay at home mother until January 1967, when she and Howard moved to the Dairy farm in Cummings, Kansas. They owned and operated one of the largest grade-A dairy farms in Northeast Kansas. Later she was known for her tasty meals prepared at the Atchison Hospital. It has been told that people checked in just for her food. She was a member of the Cummings Christian Church, Cummings, Kansas. Music was also always a big part of Rosemary's life.

Rosemary loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world. She was kind and generous. She was always happiest surrounded by them. She will be greatly missed by granddaughter, Brandee and her husband, Rick Falk, along with their children, Nicholas, Christopher, and Emilee.

Rosemary is also survived by: a daughter, Linda Langley, Overland Park; three sons, Rodney (Jean), Cummings, Robin (Shelly), Washington State, and John (Becky), Washington State; brother, Dave Myers, Holton and a brother-in-law, Gene Ramsey, Topeka; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
