Rosella Overton, 91, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Atchison Hospital.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday, February 23rd from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Rosella was born June 17, 1923 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Jacob Leonard and Mary Elizabeth Hardwick Pendergrast. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Atchison.
She and Wirt Overton were united in marriage on July 21, 1957 in Atlanta, Iowa. Mr. Overton preceded her in death on November 1, 1987.
Rosella was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, baking, pampering her pet dogs and her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her granddaughters.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she faithfully assisted her church as a provider of cakes for numerous funeral luncheons throughout the years. She served as a volunteer for Atchison Medicalodge and the Atchison Humane Society. She was a member of the Terry Unit.
Survivors include two daughters, Merry Lee Said, Atchison, KS, Cindy (Charlie) Perdue, Atchison, KS, a son, Jacob(Roberta)Coloff, Ft. Collins, CO, five grandchildren, Tony Coloff, Ft. Collins, CO, Tatia Coloff, Ft. Collins, CO, Abigail (Giles) Walsh, Fairway, KS and Jessica Perdue, Wichita, KS, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sheri Coloff, a sister, Ida Marsena Thompson on December 10, 2000 and nine infant siblings.
