Rose Marie Dunn

Rose Marie Dunn, 91, Atchison, Kansas died at Atchison Senior Village Nursing Center.

Mrs. Dunn has been cremated and no formal services are scheduled at this time. Her ashes will be interred at a later date in the Trinity Episcopal Garden, Atchison, Kansas. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home was entrusted with the final arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Hospital Auxiliary or Trinity Episcopal Garden. Rose's family wishes to thank the Atchison Senior Village staff for their wonderful care and friendship, Kendallwood Hospice, Fr. Ray Hartjen and special friend Myrna McConnaughey.

Rose was born February 20, 1920 in Frankfort, Kansas the daughter of Otis and Madeline Kurtz Dierking. She attended and graduated from Atchison High School, Atchison, Kansas. She and Vincent Dunn were united in marriage on September 1, 1940. Mr. Dunn preceded her in death in 2004.

Rose moved to California in 1955 with her family and worked as a department manager for May Company department store for 25 years.

After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband through the United States. After moving back to Atchison she enjoyed going on cruises with friends, volunteering for the Atchison Hospital Auxiliary and clerking at Dierking-Staley Auctions.

Survivors include three daughters, Vicki (Scott) Baird, Atchison, KS, Shelli Dunn, Camarillo, CA, Duskin (Ke Nguyen) Fairchild, Knoxville, TN, a son Vince (Jody) Dunn, Couer d'Alene, ID, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rod Dierking and Andy Dierking.
