Rose Marie Bahr

Rose Marie Bahr, 73, Atchison, Kansas, died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Craig A. Lantz officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 17th, from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Rose was born May 1, 1944, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of James A. and Hallie M. Faulkner Coke. She attended elementary school in Atchison and graduated from Atchison High School in 1962. She attended NEKVOTEC and completed various courses, in May 2005 she completed the Para Educator exam.

She and Ronald E. Bahr were united in marriage on June 13, 1965, at the First Christian Church in Atchison.

Rose was employed as a bookkeeper/secretary for Woolworths Department Store, Blish Mize and the Atchison County Attorney's office. She then served as a Para Professional for Atchison Public schools until 2005.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Field Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher, and served as a Family Support Coordinator for the Kansas Army National Guard-35th Division. In 2004 she earned the Kanas Army National Guard Military Spouse Award. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Rose enjoyed raising flowers, her pets and being a caregiver for family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Bahr, Atchison, KS, two sons, David (Kara) Bahr, Johnston, IA, Dennis (Trisha) Bahr, Auburn, KS, four granddaughters, Kiersten, Maddison, Kinley, Hallee, a brother, William E. Coke, Independence, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Stacey Bahr, and a brother Carl Coke.
