Roger L. Henderson, Sr., 68, Atchison, Kansas, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Graveside services and burial will be Friday, October 4, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Lee Hendon officiating. There will be no scheduled visitation prior to the graveside services. Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warriors Project and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Roger was born September 30, 1944, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of William and Elizabeth Ross Henderson. He attended school in Atchison graduating from Atchison High School in 1962.
Roger served in the United States Army from March 1, 1967, until his honorable discharge on February 28, 1969.
Employment included working as a pattern maker for Atchison Casting Corp., a cabinetmaker for Frantz Wood Products and Shuck's Wood Products.
Survivors include a son, Roger L. "J. R." Henderson, Jr., Topeka, KS a sister, Ruth Ann Lackey, Manhattan, KS a brother, James Henderson, Atchison, KS and one grandchild
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John Henderson.
