Robert William Shumaker

Robert W. Shumaker, 54, Cummings, Kansas died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Atchison Senior Village Nursing Center.
Mr. Shumaker's body has been donated to science at the University of Kansas Medical Center. There will be no scheduled services. The final arrangements have been entrusted to Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Robert was born March 9, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Robert Donald and Marteel G. Shumaker. He attended Washington Elementary School, graduating from Atchison High School and Northeast Kansas Area Vocational Technical School.
He and JoAnn Smith were united in marriage and later divorced.
Robert was employed for many years as a concrete worker in the Atchison area. He enjoyed fishing, sketching pictures and auto body repair.
Survivors include two daughters, Megan M. Shumaker, Atchison, KS, Amanda Raleigh, Wichita, KS, his mother, Marteel "Marty" Shumaker, Atchison, KS, half-brother, George Shaw, Buffalo, OK, two grandchildren, Brayden Raleigh and Kailey, both of Wichita, KS.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Shumaker and a brother, Michael A. Shumaker.
