Rhoda Jane Fisher, age 74, formerly of Atchison, KS, died on September 30, 2025, in Salina, KS, at the Pinnacle Park Nursing Facility, where she has resided for the last few years.
Rhoda was born on February 16, 1951, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of James Oliver Burton and Rhoda (Hunt) Burton. She attended schools in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Rhoda worked for a short time in her youth, but was most proud of being a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting and loved to make all her grandbabies blankets. She enjoyed watching soap operas and Jerry Springer. She was a member of the Juneteenth Committee and always looked forward to providing whatever she could to make that celebration successful.
She was married to Harold J. "Herbie" Fisher on February 4, 1972, in Platte City, MO. Herbie preceded her in death on October 29, 2010. She is also preceded by her parents, children, Laneese "Tamu" Fisher, David Wallace, Jr., and Sharna Franklin; grandchildren, Davonn Franklin, Jovonnie Franklin, great grandchildren, Ti-Hera Brown, Jayla White, Faith Lynn Beadles.
Survivors include a daughter, Kialfa Fisher; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Homegoing Services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Elder Kenneth Smith, officiating. She will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery following the service.
