Phyllis Chapman

Phyllis F. Chapman, age 74, of Effingham, KS, passed on July 27, 2026, at Mosaic Life Care.

A visitation will be on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. A procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 1:00 PM for a Graveside Service at 1:30 PM at Sumner Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB officiating.

Phyllis was born on September 25, 1951, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Mary (Clem) Wilburn. She attended St. Pat’s Elementary, graduating from Atchison High School, before continuing at Vo-Tech.

Phyllis was an LPN at the Medicalodge of Atchison for thirty years where she truly cared for the residents. When at home, she enjoyed playing with and spoiling her cows and chickens and working in the garden.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Paul) Williams, Yvonne (Brenda) Funk, Ronnie (Jamie) Funk, Wendy Hubbard; sisters, Mary Tucker, Kelly Wilburn; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; her life companion, Howard Tull; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Butter and Biscuit.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold P. Wilburn and Earl Wilburn; and a granddaughter; Heather Trainer.
