Peggy Jo Kemp

Peggy Jo Kemp, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at her home in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 8, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating.  Cremation will follow the services.  Visitation with the family will be Monday from 2:00 until time of services at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Peggy was born October 24, 1944 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Robert L. and Bernice Dame Hanshaw.  She attended school in Effingham, Kansas.

She and Loren Dale Kemp were united in marriage on December 27, 1962 Atchison, Kansas.  Mr. Kemp preceded her in death on May 20, 1988.

Peggy was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Shannon Kemp, St. Joseph, MO; two daughters, Karen Kemp, Atchison, KS; Brenda Wilson, Kansas City, MO; a brother, Terry Hanshaw, Atchison, KS; two sisters, Evelyn McLaughlin, Muscotah, KS; Velvet Miller, Tonganoxie, KS; seven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and two great -great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bob" Hanshaw and a great grandchild.
