Pauline A. Jones (Jackson) was born on Dec. 2,1930, to Pauline (Drakley) and Emmett Jackson in Atchison, KS. She passed away, Sunday, November 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Emmett “Bud”, Charles “Butch” and Gerald, “Jerry” Jackson; four sisters, Mary Frances Moore, Margaret Larrison, Linda Jackson, and Patricia Pospisil; two grandson, Anthony “Tony” Crosswhite and Andrew “Andy” Crosswhite; and one nephew, Thomas Pospisil.

Being a middle child, and very small in stature, Pauline, better known as Polly, was known for her dedication and strong work ethics which enabled her to work multiple jobs to support and raise her seven children.

For twenty-five years, Polly worked for Saunders Manufacturing, also known as the mop shop, which later became Golden Star Manufacturing. During the last ten years of that employment, she went back to school, became a nurse, then hired at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Medical Center in Leavenworth, KS. After thirteen years, she retired to become a full-time caretaker of her three youngest siblings, Butch, Jerry, and Linda Jackson until their deaths, years later.

Polly was an avid bowler and hundreds of people knew her from the various bowling centers having started bowling at age twenty-four. At age seventy-four, Polly received recognition from the National Bowling Association as have bowled in a continuous league for fifty years. Polly continued bowling another eighteen years, finally retiring from bowling at ninety-two when she was no longer strong enough to hold her eight-pound bowling ball.

As to her greatest accomplishment in this life, Polly always said it was her family. She is survived by her seven children: Edwin Jones, Atchison, KS; Patricia Hord, Branson, MO; Theresa Davis, Leavenworth, KS; Janice (Ed) Chase, Atchison, KS; Polly (Perry) West, Platte City, MO; Linda (Tim) Lykins, Atchison, KS; and Timothy Jones, Branson, MO. Twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren also survive Polly.

Funeral services for Pauline Jones to be held at St. Joseph Church, Atchison, KS on Monday, December 1, 2025, starting with a Parish Rosary at 9:30 A.M., followed by the visitation, the eulogy, and the funeral mass starting at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Polly Jones Memorial Bowling Scholarship fund in support of young bowlers of Atchison High School or St. Croix Hospice. Funeral care entrusted to the Arensberg Pruett Funeral Home.
