Paul D. McCray, 78, Atchison, Kansas died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Veteran's Administration Hospital, Leavenworth, Kansas.
At the request of Paul McCray there will be no formal services held. The body has been cremated with private family inurnment of the cremains to be held at a later date. Paul was born December 3, 1934 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Jesse and Gladys Christie McCray. He attended Atchison Public Schools.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1953.
Paul retired from the Atchison Youth Center after over twenty years of employment as the maintenance painter. He also did private painting for many residents of Atchison.
Survivors include his wife, Pat McCray of the couples home in Atchison, five sons, Jeff, Jerry, Jon, Mac and Joel all of Yakima, WA, three daughters, Debbie, Brenda and Patty all of Yakima, WA, a step-son, Doug Olmstead, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Charles McCray, Atchison, KS, Larry McCray, St. Joseph, MO, fifteen grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant child.
