Patricia L. Swordy

Patricia Swordy, 88, Atchison, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Atchison Medicalodge.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB, officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Patricia was born February 5, 1933, in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Alma Lynch Bewley.  She attended both Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Atchison High School.

She and Robert Swordy were united in marriage in Atchison. Mr. Swordy preceded her in death on February 4, 1986.

Patricia was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign War Post #1175 Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Atchison Elks Club. She enjoyed astrology, gardening, fishing and watching her hummingbirds.

Survivors include a son, Douglas Emery, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Vicky (Carl) Kiehl, Atchison, KS, Leslie (Ed McNiel) Wise, Raymore, MO, a brother, William Bewley, Atchison, KS, a sister Jo Stewart, Hutchinson, KS, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Swordy, two sisters, Peggy Wilburn, Louise Bewley, and two brothers, Raymond Bewley and Jim Bewley,
