Norman Sherlock, 87, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Living Community of St. Joseph, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, June 3, 2013, at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Gerard Senecal, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri. A parish rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 2nd at 5:30 P.M. at St. Joseph's Church. Visitation with the family will be Monday at 9:00 A.M. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph's Church or the V.F. W. Post #1175 of Atchison and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted.
Norman was born November 18, 1925, in Maryville, Missouri the son of Francis and Vona Mack Sherlock. He attended school in Maryville and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
He and Beth Meyers were united in marriage June 4, 1951, at St. Patrick's Church, Maryville, Missouri.
Norman retired as assistant area manager of Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline after thirty-four years of service. After serving in numerous midwestern states, then retiring in Atchison in 1983.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Atchison, a member of Maryville Elks Club and V. F. W. Post #1175, of Atchison. He was an avid reader and he and his wife enjoyed many years of traveling together.
Norman served in the United States Navy for seven years, including World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Meyers Sherlock, Atchison, KS, a son Gerry Sherlock, Leavenworth, KS a daughter, Judy (Jeff) Penny, Lyons, KS, two grandchildren, Angie (Mark) Pahls, Adam Penny and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Walston.
