Norma Jean Wallingford

Norma J. Wallingford, 54, Atchison, Kansas, died Friday, October 7, 2022, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Homegoing service to Celebrate her life will be Friday, October 28, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Campbell Chapel AME Church in Atchison. Visitation with the family will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Norma will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral care. Memorials are suggested to assist the family with service arrangements and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Norma Jean Brown Wallingford was born May 1, 1968, the daughter of Norman Jones and Kathleen Brown. She attended Atchison High School and graduated in 1987.

Norma confessed Christ and was a long and faithful active member of Campbell Chapel AME church.

Norma was employed at Golden Star Inc. from September 8, 1987, to October 16, 2019, a total of 32 years.

Norma and Michael Wallingford were united in marriage. From that union they had two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Aaron Matthew.

Preceded in death by her father, Norman Jones; her mother, Kathleen Brown; her bonus mom and dad, Hester and Edwin (Skip) George; and three brothers, Skip Jr., Larry and Charles.

Norma is survived by her sons Jeffrey, Springfield Mo., and Aaron, Atchison, Ks. Her bonus family, Lorraine Rice, Jeffrey George, and Michael George. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She had a host of friends in the community of Atchison.
