Millard W. Miller, 86, of Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center.
  
  
  Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Benedict's Church with Rev. Gerard Senecal, OSB, as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish and Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Visitation will follow until 8:30 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict's Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
  
  
  Millard was born July 27, 1926, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Millard C. and Rose Stawpert Miller. He attended St. Benedict's Grade School and later graduated from Maur Hill Prep School in 1944. He then graduated from St. Benedict's College in 1951.
  
  
  He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 13, 1944, and served as a Radar Operator until his honorable discharge on March 25, 1946.
  
  
  Millard began his employment with Rockwell International Corp. as an accountant in October of 1956. Working until his retirement from Atchison Casting Corp in 1994.
  
  
  He was a member of St. Benedict's Church, a Benedictine Oblate of St. Benedict's Abbey, Fleming-Jackson-Seever Post #6 of the American Legion and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus.
  
  
  Survivors include nephews and cousins.
  
  
  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary Thimes.
