Michael W. "Mick" Flynn, 80, Rolla, Missouri formerly of Atchison, Kansas, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Phelps County Hospital in Rolla, Missouri.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Gabriel Landis, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be Tuesday, December 18th at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:30 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Maur Hill-Mount Academy or American Lung Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Mick was born October 7, 1932, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Michael and Elizabeth Arensberg Flynn. He attended St. Joseph's Elementary School, graduating from Maur Hill Prep School in 1950.
He and the former Ina Davis were united in marriage on June 19, 1951 at St. Joseph's Church.
Mick served for many years for Arensberg's IGA Grocery store of Atchison until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Ina Flynn, Atchison, KS, five children, Sean (Mary) Flynn, Atchison, KS, Jane (Francis) Schneider, Atchison, KS, Todd (Beth) Flynn, Ocoee, FL, Kelly Flynn, Iowa City, IA, Kate (Mike) Jones, Rolla, MO, eleven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren and a brother, Mark (Karen) Flynn, Topeka, KS.
His parents, Michael and Elizabeth Flynn, s sister, Jean VanDyke and a brother, Tom Flynn preceded him in death.
