Merry L. Charlsen

Merry L. Charlsen, 82, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, March 30, 2020, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Merry has been cremated under the care and direction of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. No services are scheduled at this time.

Merry was born April 30, 1937, in Effingham, Kansas, the daughter of William "Ralph" and Lillian (Nickels) Steele. She attended elementary school in Horton, Kansas and graduated from Atchison High School in 1955. Following graduation she attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Atchison, Kansas.

Survivors include a son Jason Charlsen, Oswego, KS, three daughters, Julyan Armstrong, Atchison, KS, Jane Gehrt, Atchison, KS, Jyll Chase, Holton, KS, two sisters, Anita Woodside, Portland, OR, Laura Morrow, Portland, OR, and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Emily Park, Wilma Perrin and Diana Steele.
