Mary Worley

Mary H. Worley, 86, Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Atchison, Kansas, died Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Villa St. Francis.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB officiating.  Interment will follow in Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas.  A parish rosary will be on Thursday, Jan. 5 ^th at 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation with friends until 7:00 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Catholic School Endowment and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Mary was born July 5, 1936, in Fanning, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Katherine (Abbott) Mason.  She attended elementary school in Highland, Kansas, graduating from Highland High School. She continued her education at Highland Community Junior College.

She and Gerard "Cheat" Ramirez were united in marriage in 1955, in Atchison and later divorced.  She married Ronald Hatfield in the early 1990's; he preceded her in death in 2009.

She was employed at Page Airways from 1955 until 1979 before joining Dr. Fields and Associates until her retirement. Following retirement, she worked part time for Simpson Grocery Store in Wathena, Kansas until 2006.

Survivors include a daughter, Liz (Karl) Verbenec, Kansas City, MO.; a brother, William Mason, Los Angeles, CA.; and one granddaughter, Tara Ketchum, Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Mason, Larry Mason; and two sisters, Barbara Hartley and Carol Kieffer.
