Mary Jean "Pug" Zeit

Mary Jean "Pug" Zeit, 80, of Atchison, Kansas passed away October 10, 2018 with her family at her side.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Church at Good Intent with Rev. Benjamin Tremmel, OSB as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Louis Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, from 10-11:00 a.m. preceding the mass at the church . Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Louis Church or Atchison Senior Village and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom final care has been entrusted.

Mary Jean was born September 11, 1938 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Leo and Marie (Kane) McCoy. She attended District #74 School south of Atchison and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in 1956.

She and Gerald "Jerry" R. Zeit were united in Holy Matrimony on October 16, 1956 at St. Benedict's Church. Mr. Zeit preceded her in death on May 17, 1998.

Mary Jean was employed with the former LFM Manufacturing from 1956 until 1962 until becoming a homemaker and stay at home mom.

She was a member of St. Louis Church in the Good Intent Community and belonged to the church Altar Society; she helped at the church picnics for many years. Pug loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Steve) Myers, Lancaster, KS, two grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Heerlein, Savannah, MO, Taylor (Jennifer) Myers, Hill City, KS, and three great grandchildren, Remington, Emori and Bowen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Eugene McCoy and a sister Helen Vandiver.
