Mary Elizabeth (Van Dyke) McClintock passed away on April 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She grew up in Atchison, Kansas, and spent the majority of her life in Kansas City, Missouri, where she built a home and raised her family over the course of more than 40 years.
Mary was raised in the Catholic faith, which remained an important part of her life. She carried those values into her own home, raising her children with the same sense of faith, compassion, and strength that guided her.
She will be remembered most for the way she showed up for her family. Mary was a loving and dedicated mother to Audrey, Curtis, Joyce, and Glen McClintock, and was deeply involved in their lives in both big and small ways.
Outside of family, Mary found joy in simple, meaningful things. She was an avid gardener who took pride in creating beauty around her. She loved to cook and bring people together over a meal. She was also a strong swimmer in her younger years and continued swimming well into adulthood, something that brought her both peace and strength. She enjoyed sports throughout her life and loved supporting her kids, even spending time coaching when they were growing up.
She is survived by her children, Audrey McClintock (Andrew Van Nest), Curtis McClintock, Joyce McClintock, and Glen McClintock; her former husband and lifelong friend, Brent McClintock; her father, John Van Dyke, Sr.; and her siblings, David Van Dyke (Valerie), Sara Van Dyke, Tim Van Dyke (Sarah), and Andrea Verbanic (Mike). She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Van Dyke, and her brother, John Van Dyke, Jr.
Mary will be remembered for her resilience, her warmth, and her unwavering love for her family. Her presence, guidance, and care will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
