Mary Josephine "Josie" Quick, Joplin, Missouri, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at her residence.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Gabriel Landis, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited on Friday, April 26th at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph's Church, and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Josie was born September 21, 1945 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Helen Lopez. She was a resident of Jasper County Missouri for the past 29 years.
Josie worked for Oxford Home Health Care for 10 years before retiring in 2012.
She was an active member of St. Ann's Church in Joplin. She enjoyed gardening and deer hunting. She especially loved time with her grandchildren and family. Jose was a survivor of the May 22, 2011 Joplin Tornado.
Josie is survived by her husband Mike Quick of 29 years, her mother Helen Lopez, Atchison, KS, three daughters, Kari Casteel and husband Jeff of Lenexa, KS, Ronny Jo Nicklin and husband David of Basehor, KS, Dawn Williams of Kansas City, KS, four sons, Ron Williams II and wife Amanda of Kansas City, KS, Corey Quick and wife Shelly, Aaron Lefebure and wife Miranda both of Excelsior Springs, MO and Travis Quick and wife Sheila of Liberty, MO, five brothers, Charles Lopez, Topeka, KS, Michael Lopez, Iowa, Richard Lopez, Basehor, KS, Fred Lopez and Hank Lopez both of Texas, a sister, Connie Kasl, Atchison, KS and sixteen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Lopez.
