Mary A. Hall Gerrish

Mary A. Hall Gerrish, 98, of Atchison, Kansas died Monday, September 24, 2012 at Atchison Senior Village.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 28, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gerard Senecal, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September 27th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 8 :00 P.M at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Church or Project Concern and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Mary was born August 25, 1914, in Potter, Kansas, the daughter of John N. and Mary M. Heinen Ernzen. She attended St. Benedict's Grade School, Atchison Business College and St. Louis College.

She and Daniel "Lee" Hall were united in marriage on January 2, 1946 in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Hall preceded her in death on January 12, 1975. She later married Oliver "Ben" Gerrish on July 27, 1993. Mr. Gerrish preceded her in death on November 16, 1995.

Mary was employed as a seamstress at Inland Manufacturing, Fitz Overall Co., and the Horton Garment Company.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Atchison, Kansas. Also holding memberships with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Chapter 538, and the 538 Club.

Mary is survived by her children, Kay Murray, Effingham, KS, Dennis (Ann) Hall, Topeka, KS, Doug Hall, Topeka, KS, and seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, John H. Ernzen, four sisters, Anna Gellings, Sue Adams, Elizabeth Gellings, Margaret Hall and a stepson, Oliver Gerrish, Jr.
