Martha L. McMellen, 71, Mission, Kansas died unexpectedly Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home.
Graveside services will be Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Alderson Cemetery, Atchison, Kansas. There will be no scheduled visitation with the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted.
Martha was born March 24, 1942 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Martin and Jesse Hollands Anderson. She attended Atchison Public Schools, graduating from Atchison High School.
She and George B. McMellen were united in marriage on December 13, 1968 in Overland Park, Kansas.
Martha was employed with Prime Media Publishing Company in Overland Park, Kansas for seventeen years as an administrative assistant to the President.
Survivors include her husband, George McMellen, of the couples home in Mission, KS, a son Dan McMellen and his wife Julie Berke McMellen, Los Angeles, CA and Martha has a grandson, Henry McMellen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Anderson.
