Mark Hansen, 68, Atchison, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the Atchison Hospital surrounded by his family.
Mark was born November 21, 1949, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Clarence "Hap" and Ethel (Love) Hansen. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Atchison High School in 1968.
He was employed with Midwest Grain Products for 25+ years as a boiler operator. During that time he was proud to serve as a Union Steward. Prior to his employment with MGP, Mark worked in the oil fields off the coast of New Orleans. More recently Mark has been seen at the farmers market with produce from his plentiful gardens.
Mark was an avid KU Basketball fan and Fantasy Football Champion that enjoyed gardening, fishing, painting, photography, his pets, and his grandchildren.
Mark is survived by Marian Mullins, their dog, Henry, a son Lucas Miller, Kansas City, MO, a daughter Angela (Karlton) Wright, Pomona, KS, and three grandchildren, Virginia, Wyatt, and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, and sister, Deborah Summy.
It was Mark's wish not to have public services. Family and friends are encouraged to continue to share their thoughts and memories of the big man with a giant heart.
