Marian F. Prohaska, 74, Atchison, Kansas died at Atchison Medicalodge Nursing Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gerard Senecal, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited on Sunday, April 8th at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation with the family to follow until 6:30 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Benedictine Sisters Friendly Visitor Program and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Marian was born December 16, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of George and Laverne Bremer Fleury. She graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College with an Associate in Arts degree.
Marian was employed by the Leavenworth Veteran's Administration Hospital as a psychiatric nurse for fifteen years.
She and Thomas E. Prohaska were united in marriage on November 24, 1955, in Riverside, California. Mr. Prohaska preceded her in death on March 23, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Colleen Prohaska, Lawrence, KS, four sons, Edward Prohaska, San Francisco, CA, Matthew (Phyllis) Prohaska, Kansas City, MO, Patrick Prohaska, San Francisco, CA, Andy Prohaska, Atchison, KS, a brother Merle Roberts, CA, two sisters, Ramona and Robin of California, and two grandchildren and one step grandchild and a step great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Phillip.
