Marcia J. Turpin, 74, Atchison, Kansas died early Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Chaplain Ryan Van Peursem officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, Nov. 22nd from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Northeast Kansas Hospice, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(ASPCA), or Trinity Lutheran School Endowment and may be left in care of the funeral home. Marcia was born December 9, 1941 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of William H. and Florence Hammond Harrison. She attended Franklin Elementary School, graduating from Atchison High School.

Marcia served in the dietary department as a cook for USD #409 at the Washington School for several years in Atchison.

She and Ronald Gene Turpin were united in marriage on November 23, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Atchison.

In her spare time Marcia enjoyed bowling, attending national bowling tournaments for several years. She also enjoyed the time she could spend with family, especially her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Ron Turpin, of the couple's home in Atchison, three daughters, Cyndi Deckard, DeCatur, IL; Denise (John) Pace, Atchison, KS; Shanise A. Martin, Chehalis, WA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Florence Harrison, and a brother, Dwight Cowan.
