Lovetaa Ferne Hargrove

Lovetta "Ferne" Hargrove, 92, Atchison, Kansas died January at Medicalodge.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Hansen officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Missouri. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 20th from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Hospice or Ladies Aide of Sugar Creek and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Ferne was born December 27, 1919 in Cameron, Missouri to Frank and Mary Campbell McGuire.

Ferne married Samuel Perry Hargrove, Sr. of Rushville, Missouri on April 17, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She worked for Dr. M. L. Peters of Cameron, Missouri until her marriage. After he marriage she and her husband moved to Rushville where they farmed and then later moved to Atchison. She retired from the Atchison Leather Products after 25 years.

Ferne was a member of the Carol Baptist Church, Atchison, Kansas.

She is survived by her sons, Samuel Perry (Forrestine) Hargrove, Jr., Excelsior Springs, MO and Edwin Charles (Karen) Hargrove, Atchison, KS, her grandchildren, Debra Ann (Tony) Hargrove Carter, Seminole, TX, Bethany Lynn (Dave) Hargrove Jones, Farmington, NM, Perry Anton (Stacy) Hargrove, Necedah, WI, Stacy Jo (Bill) Hargrove Ritchhart, Stephanie Lynn (John) Hargrove Cavedo, Ft. Greely, AK and Sarah Elizabeth (Tim) Hargrove White, Leavenworth, KS, her great-grandchildren Raymond Kysar, Farmington, NM, Jessica M. Kysar, Farmington, NM, Elizabeth M. Jones, Farmington, NM, Michael A. Hargrove, Samuel G. Hargrove, Daniel P. Hargrove, Brian D. Hargrove, JoLee M. Ritchhart, Jessi R. Ritchhart, Alexandra Cavedo, Catherine Cavedo and Gabrielle Cavedo. She is also survived by 3 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ferne was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, seven sisters and two step-grandchildren.
