Linda S. Weitlich, 57, Dekalb, Missouri died unexpectedly Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The body has been cremated under the direction of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Inurnment of the ashes will be at a later date at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Missouri.
Linda was born April 23, 1956 in Van Nuys, California the daughter of Robert and Betty Browning Weitlich. She moved as a child with her family to Rushville and Dekalb Missouri area where she attended Rushville Elementary School, graduating from Dekalb High School. She then graduated from Missouri Western University with an associate degree.
Linda served for twenty years with Missouri Western University as administrative assistant and office manager until 2007.
She and Rod B. Smith were united in marriage on February 24, 2004 in Merced, California.
Linda enjoyed spending her free time riding motorcycles, going fishing, tending her garden and flowers and was known for her ability to make good jellies.
Survivors include her husband, Rod B. Smith of the couples home in Dekalb, MO, a son and his wife, Brandon and Heather Crockett, Atchison, KS, a brother, Ron Weitlich, St. Joseph, MO and three grandchildren.
