Laverne E. Weishaar, of Nortonville, Kansas, died Friday, December 31, 2021, at her daughter's home in Merriam, Kansas at the age of 101.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church in Nortonville, Kansas. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at 9:00 AM at the church with the rosary to be prayed at 9:30 A.M. Laverne will lie in state on Tuesday, January 4th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph's Church or Catholic Charities of NE Kansas and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom funeral care has been entrusted.
Laverne was born on February 3, 1920, in the Mooney Creek Community of Winchester, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Rosella (Meier) Noll and was the last living child of the Albert Noll Family. She attended schools in Winchester and graduated from Nortonville High School.
She was married to Robert J. Weishaar on December 31, 1941, at the Corpus Christi Church in Mooney Creek.
Laverne was a homemaker and was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Nortonville, Kansas where she also served on the Altar Society. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers.
Survivors include her five children, Marlene Weishaar, Merriam, KS; Jane Dodd (Jay Lohman), Topeka, KS; Bob (Marsha) Weishaar, Nortonville, KS; Dennis Weishaar, Topeka, KS; Terry (Tina) Weishaar, Spring Hill, KS; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her siblings and a daughter, Carol Ann Weishaar.
