Larry Eugene Merrill, age 72, of Huron, Kansas, died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Jon Hullinger as celebrant. Burial of cremated remains will follow in the church garden. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to assist with burial expenses and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Larry was born on October 24, 1948 in Fort Monroe, Virginia, the son of Ray and Barbara (Hill) Larkin. He grew up in Atchison County and attended Atchison High School.

He and Brenda Sue Myers were married on July 5, 1984 in Atchison, Kansas and spent over thirty-nine years together.

Larry was a truck driver and for the most part just loved driving in general. He hauled products for Blish-Mize for over thirteen years, Rollins Transportation, Lenexa, KS, for fifteen years and for BMS Trucking out of St. Joseph, MO, until his retirement in July of 2011.

He was baptized at Trinity Episcopal Church and was a member of the church. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Merrill, of the home in Huron, KS; two daughters, Melissa Merrill, Rebecca Merrill (Jared Hundley), both of Huron, KS; a son, Larry (Candi) Merrill, Atchison, KS; a sister, Robyn Larkin Kelley, Atchison, KS; a brother, Terry (Pam) Larkin, Atchison, KS; and three grandchildren, Ethan Hale, Wyatt Hale, Ruby Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis Merrill, Mary Ann Harris, Karen Reiss, Timothy Larkin and Bonnie Zabel.
