Julia Josephine Brillouet, 88, formerly of Atchison, Kansas, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, Kansas.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, December 9th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph of the Valley Church in Easton, Kansas, with Rev. Mathew Francis as celebrant. Interment will follow on the St. Joseph of the Valley Cemetery. A visitation with the family will from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Julia was born July 15, 1926, in Keolbeck, Belgium, the daughter of Modess and Paula Buyrere. She was educated in Belgium before moving to the United States in 1952.
She and Fernand Francois Brillouet were united in marriage in 1946 in Belgium. Mr. Brillouet preceded her in death in 1981.
Julia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing solitaire and antiquing. She loved finding deals at various thrift stores and flea markets.
Julia is survived by her son, Jack J. (Deborah) Brillouet, Ozawkie, KS, a brother, Franze Buyrere, Ohio, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Ruddy Brillouet, Sr., and two sisters Louisianne and Carmen.
