Joseph Michael Begley

Joseph M. "Joe" Begley, 77, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, October 13, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, October 19th from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children's Center for Visually Impaired and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Joe was born February 6, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Edward Francis and Mary Josephine Paolucci Begley. As a young child he moved with his family to Atchison, Kansas where he attended St. Benedict's Grade School and graduated from Maur Hill Prep School.

As a teenager Joe began working with the Missouri-Pacific Railroad and eventually retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a corridor manager.

Survivors include six sons, Quinn Begley, Olathe, KS; Jay Begley, Barstow, CA; Shane Begley, Kansas City, MO; John Begley, Norfolk,VA; Nick Begley, Kansas City, MO; Anthony Begley, Kansas City, MO; three daughters, Roxane Bolinger, Spring Hill, KS; Kimberly Denton, Atchison, KS; Lisa Billings, Atchison, KS; and two brothers, Ed Begley, Phoenix, AZ and Mike Begley, Atchison, KS, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary Weber.
