Joseph L. Adamson, 66, Atchison, Kansas died unexpectedly Friday July 26, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Thomas officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 5th from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P. M. at the funeral home. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Joseph was born January 6, 1947, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Robert and Bessie Reed Adamson. He graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph and later attended Highland Community College.

He and the former Rheba Lytle were united in marriage on September 30, 1964, in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Joseph was employed for 20 years at the Armour Packing House in St. Joseph. Following his retirement he drove a school bus for USD #500, in Kansas City, Kansas, for 20 years.

Joseph was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed football; he was fond of not only his specific teams but also had a passion for the game itself. Above all he loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his wife Rheba, children, Charles Robinson, St. Joseph, MO, Audrey (Dennis) Cannon, Flint, MI, Jolynn Jones, Lewisville, TX, Curtis Littrice, Atchison, KS, Tyrone Littrice, Topeka, KS, Tiffany Littrice, Atchison, KS, a brother, Walter Thurman, Willingboro, NJ, two sisters Barbara Crumble, Milwaukee, WI, Mary Johnson, Minneapolis, MN, foster children, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Daniel Adamson.
