John Holt

John W. Holt, of Nortonville, KS, died peacefully on October 20, 2025, at his home.

John was born in Kansas City, KS, on February 26,1962, the son of John Robert Holt and Carol Jean (Lewis) Holt. His mother died when he was young, and his father remarried Donna Holt and she raised John with his father. Growing up in Kansas City, KS, he is a graduate of Washington High School.

John was self-employed by J&J Contractors until he retired. He did not like the boredom of retirement and went to Reser's in Topeka, KS, as a forklift driver until his health forced him into full-time retirement. He spent almost every weekend fishing on the river running lines and if he wasn't fishing, he was hunting. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time loving his hobbies with his son.

He is survived by his son, Orie (Emily) Holt of Nortonville, KS, and a daughter, Amber Holt of Valley Falls, KS; his sister, Dale Byrd of Oregon; and two grandchildren.
