Jeffrey A. Burton, 55, Atchison, Kansas, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Burton has been cremated and private family services will be held at a later date.
Jeffrey was born December 10, 1959, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Rodger and Bonnie Winters Burton. He attended school in Atchison.
He and Susan Hadfield were united in marriage on January 13, 1979, in Atchison, Kansas.
Jeffrey was employed as a truck driver. He enjoyed diving, traveling, hunting, fishing and was a member of the Atchison BASS club. Jeffrey was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan. Above all else though he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was a charter member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Atchison. He served with the Army National Guard for 13 years.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Burton, Atchison, KS, a son, Jeffrey A. Burton, Jr., Atchison, KS, a daughter, Brandy Burton, Parkville, MO, a granddaughter, Ryley Gates, his mother, Bonnie Martin, Highland, KS, three brothers, Bryan Coffelt, Atchison, KS, Wesley Coffelt, White Cloud, KS, Christopher Coffelt, Oklahoma, and a sister, Kimberly Short, Highland, KS.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodger Burton, and two brothers, Rocky and Rodney Burton.
