Janis Lee Beckner

Janis L. Beckner, 75, Effingham, Kansas, died peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Amberwell Hospital, Atchison, Kansas.

Janis will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be at a later date.  The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation care.

Janis was born June 25, 1947, in Lawton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (McWhorter) Green. She attended school in Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

She worked as a massage therapist and truly enjoyed her career.

Janis enjoyed playing BINGO, going antiquing and attending garage sales. She liked relaxing with friends over a cup of coffee. Above all else she loved her family she was selfless in her support of not only her children but her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Mike (Carrie) Beckner, Shawnee, KS, her daughter, Kelly Allen, Effingham, KS, two grandchildren, Jake Beckner and Alexandra Feldman, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Green, a grandson, Payton Allen and her brother David Green.
