Janiece "Jan" Minnie (Wood) Kempton

Janiece "Jan" Minnie (Wood) Kempton, age 89, of Kansas City, MO died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at her home. Her husband, Ronald Kempton, age 85, died just two days later, on Monday, December 13, 2021 also at their home.

Graveside services for both Jan and her husband Ron will be Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Alderson Cemetery in Atchison, Kansas. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral care.

Jan was born on March 1, 1932, in Atchison, Kansas, the only child of Earl and Minnie (Trautloff) Wood. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1950.

She moved to Kansas City, MO in 1967, and had a career as an accountant with KCMO TV5 and Radio. She was always in her garden and was a member of Water Garden Society of Kansas City for fifteen years.

Jan and Ronald Kempton married in October of 1981 in Kansas City, MO.

She is survived by; her son, Glenn and Teresa Fulk, Platte City, MO; her daughter, Debra (Fulk) and Tim Sutlief of Leavenworth, KS, as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by two step children, Teresa Turner and Dr. Ronald S. Kempton and their families.
