Janice DeGisi

Janice Clark DeGisi, 99, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Atchison, Kansas, passed from this world on March 31, 2026. Daughter of Joseph F. and Martha Hudgens Clark, dearly loved mother of Tom (Jane) of Overland Park, Kansas and Joe (Liza Hart) of Smithers, British Columbia. Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sabino "Sam" DeGisi; daughters Jane Anne and Luz Elena (James) Alfonsi; grandsons Philip and Joseph; and siblings Joseph, Michael, Thomas, Richard, and Elizabeth "Betts" Latenser.

Janice was involved in her community through Curé of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood and literacy work in the Kansas City area including teaching and tutoring English as a Second Language.

Janice is also survived by her grandchildren Mariah and Lydia of Overland Park; Talia (Hunter) Hatfield of Tampa, Florida; Catherine of Smithers, British Columbia; Matthias of Victoria, British Columbia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday April 4th at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchison, Kansas. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The live streamed service will appear beneath the obituary here on the website.
